Congratulation to Rahman Ali Ali Al-Maweri for his MSc Project dissertation with title "An Artificial Intelligence Model of Expert System for Interpretation Hemodynamic Data from Cardiothoracic intensive Care Unit (CICU)"

Seeing here Rahman presenting his expert system for CICU. Group members were satisfied with his project, and he will be one of our PhD candidate. Hopefully MOSTI grant our proposal to enhance the expert elements in this project.

List of preliminary output:

1. We just managed submitting one copyright for our design database.
2. 1 MSc project student succesfully developed a basic expert system for CICU. This system will be a basic platform system for Dr. Rabiah project. Hopefully MOSTI granted our proposal to detail and enhanced the expert elements.
3. 1 MSc project student succesfully developed a simple Magic Book Augmented Reality. This Magic book system will be a basic learning aid system for Augmented Reality project.

28th August 2009 meeting

Dr. Zamrin introduced Ir A.Aziz Mat Ali and Mr Mohd. Nizam from Energy Automation Management Sdn. Bhd to the group. We explained background of the research and P.M. Hj Hasan presenting the DFD . We agree with collaboration but need further clarification from ICC, UPM. We set another meeting for the group, company and deputy director of ICC to have meeting. Most probably on 4th September, 2.45 pm.

21st August 2009, 3.00 pm, BK1

After Seremban workshop, we managed to submit 5 proposal for sc-fund. Unfortunately:

• Integrated Heterogeneous Medical Databases for Cardiothoracic Systems, lead by Dr. Lilly Suriani Affendey was rejected because new rules were implemented where one researcher can lead only one sc-fund at the same time. Submitted for Fundamental fund, and againwas rejected without any reason.
• Intelligent Cardiothoracic ICU Hemodynamic Monitoring System, lead by Dr. Rabiah Abdul Kadir, was asked to submit set of quotations, and waiting for approval, InsyaAllah.
• Intelligent Peri-operative Medical Laboratory Investigation System, lead by A.P. Mohd Hasan Bin Selamat, was rejected with same reason as the first proposal.
• Intelligent Peri-Operative Decision Support System (iPoDSS) for Coronary Artery
  Disease Patients, lead by A.P. Dr. Md. Nasir Sulaiman, submitting the quotations.
• Cardiothoracic Surgery Data Visualization with Voice Activation, lead by A.P. Dr. Rahmita Wirza, waiting for approval after submitting the quotations.

Proposal submitted before the Seremban workshop has been approved, alhamdulillah.

• A Computer Assisted Diagnosis and Intervention of Coronary Arterial Stenoses, lead by
  A.P. Dr. Rahmita Wirza, budget approved RM101,200.00
  

We decided to have meeting on 21st August, to set up new strategies. After the meeting we agreed to transform the two rejected proposal to a new Technofund proposal with A.P. Hj Hasan as a project leader. We decided to have another meeting on 28th, to sit down with a chosen company. InsyaAllah.

Latest Activities

At this moment there are four (4) students Industrial Training (LI) who developing a basic prototype database system. They are progressing very well. Hopefully by the end of their 10th weeks and with database created by Dr Lilly's Master research student, a basic prototype database system can be used for future researches.

24th meeting

Last Friday we have brief meeting after Dr. Lilly's student presenting his progress report. Dr. Lilly will supervise 3 Industrial Training students and Dr. Gee will supervise one. Next meeting will be on 8th Mei to evaluate students progress. These students will develop our pilot system which covers database, system Cardiologist and Cardiothoracic Surgery units. It will not include any expert, AI or DSS element.

At this earlier stage, we managed to published part of our work in an international journal. Congratulation to Zeenah <paper> and their supervisory committees.
